Q97.9 Day's Jewlers JetBlue
Clare Norton Wedding Photography

The Portland Sea Dogs are pleased to announce that Carly Eller and Devin Ellis of Yarmouth have been voted, by you the fans, as the winners of the “Wedding at Hadlock Field” slated to take place following the Sea Dogs game on Sunday, August 17th. The pair were one of four finalists -- out of more than 100 applicants -- for the event and received 54% of the vote beating out the second place couple who received 36% of the vote.

“We are honored and blessed to be chosen for this event,” Carly said when receiving the news they had won. “We owe it to our family and friends who voted. We want to thank everyone who voted for us, it is truly exciting!”

The lucky couple will exchange vows immediately following the Sea Dogs game and all fans in attendance are invited to stay. Lori Voornas of Q97.9 will preside over the ceremony at home plate. In addition the couple will receive wedding bands courtesy of Day’s Jewelers, two vouchers on JetBlue good for anywhere JetBlue flies, and wedding photographs courtesy of Claire Norton Photography.

Tickets for the game are still available and may be ordered online or by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500.

Here is the wining submission:

FINALIST #3

Why you want to be married at Hadlock Field : An enthusiastic sports fan and his supportive fiancé would love to share there special moment with the Sea Dogs. My name is Carly and I was recently proposed to in April. My fiancé Devin is in the Navy and he will be going on deployment in November for a minimum of 6 months. Due to the short notice we are trying to put together a creative and spontaneous wedding. We love attending Sea Dog games and thought this would be so much fun. This upcoming deployment will be the forth year in a row that Devin has missed Christmas, our anniversary, my birthday and Valentine's Day. I would just love to be able to have this special moment with him before his is shipped off and I am unable to talk with him for weeks. We are both originally from Washington, which is where my family still lives. As a fiancé to a man in the navy, life is pretty hard when he is gone. Being in a new state with no family and barely any friends can put anyone's emotions to the test. So please let the last few months I have with him be our best.
